LALIFF Screening + WB Studio Lot Tour Recap

Two weeks ago was a milestone moment for me and the animated short film I produced, which screened at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF)!

As if that wasn’t enough, I also had the incredible opportunity to tour the Warner Bros. Studio Lot, soaking in inspiration and seeing where the magic of animation and storytelling comes to life. Thank you for being part of this journey. I’ve got photos, stories, and lessons to share below!

LALIFF 2025

LALIFF Film Screening Recap

The energy at LALIFF was electric. Seeing Remember the Rats on the big screen surrounded by other talented Latinx creators was unforgettable. I got to talk with attendees, fellow filmmakers, and producers about the creative process, and their feedback reminded me exactly why we make stories like this and why these events and spaces are necessary.

Warner Bros. Studio Lot Tour Highlights

Touring WB Studios felt like a dream. Getting to see the different lots that were used for some of my favorite tv shows and films was surreal. I saw iconic sound stages and even a few areas that aren't always accessible on the studio tours. It was the kind of visit that fills your creative tank to the brim.

Takeaways

  • Helping independent and first-time directors get their project to completion and seeing our film with a festival audience will always be a magical experience.
  • Representation in animation isn’t optional, it’s necessary.
  • Walking the WB lot reminded me: the doors are opening, I have to keep going.

What's Next

I’m excited to keep pushing this short film into more festivals and to share more about the production process soon. I’ll also be releasing some new videos and teaching resources based on what I’ve learned.

“I think what you need to search for in films is the integrity of the image. I wanted to make films with solid images that confront the spectator.”
